B&G PLASTICS EXPANDS GLOBALLY, TRIPLES PRODUCTION CAPACITY
Newark, N.J. -- Nov. 1, 2003 -- Chet Kolton, President of B&G Plastics, Inc. today announced the global expansion and dramatic increased production capacity of his firm. "We are pleased to announce our global expansion and increased production capacity."Mr. Kolton said. "We have dramatically expanded our Hong Kong and China plastic and printing facilities, and have added a factory in Brazil. In addition we have new design and sales offices in Mexico City, and have extended our agreement with a strategic partner to provide plastic manufacturing facilities and distribution in 27 countries."
B&G's current global production capacity of plastic products has tripled in the past two (2) years. In addition to their core products of accessory hangers, B&G now produces a complete line of specialty garment hangers.
During that same period B&G's printing facilities have expanded to include production of hair cards, earring cards, folding boxes and other packaging products. Their Ticket Service Bureau provides UPC bar codes, and a wide assortment of price tags, string tags and label media. "We are positioned to meet the requirements of the worlds foremost retailers and manufacturers", said Mr. Kolton.
B&G's US production and distribution facility, in Newark, NJ, compliments its global factories and provides quick turn around for all domestic programs.
The US facility houses a design team that coordinates worldwide product development. It also produces the molds for all domestic and offshore production sites, assuring product consistency and quality control worldwide.
"In today's retail environment, where sourcing takes place throughout the world, companies like ours must be positioned globally ", stated Mr. Kolton. "The timely delivery of packaging and merchandising materials is essential to assure that no orders will incur unnecessary costs."
Throughout its 70 year history, B&G has evolved to keep pace with the changing and expanding requirements of its retail and manufacturing customers."In addition to our continued leadership position in providing plastic accessory hangers and packaging materials, we are now a major supplier of Electronic Article Surveillance media," said Mr. Kolton.
