Art Requirements

To help us expedite the development of your project, please follow these requirements below:

File Delivery:

Please email your artwork to your account manager. Files larger than 10MB need to be upload via our dropbox. Instructions will be provided.

File Format:

• Adobe Illustrator (Outline fonts and embed liked images)

• Adobe InDesign (Packaged with all fonts and graphics)

• Adobe Photoshop (300 dpi or higher)

Fonts:

Convert all text to outlines whenever possible if not converted please include the fonts with your file.

Process Color:

Print uses the CMYK color system (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) — not RGB (Red, Green, and Blue), which is meant for screen displays. Create your document in CMYK mode.

Spot Color:

Spot colors are printing inks of colors that are specially mixed according to a recipe. They are chosen from color matching systems and swatch books. They are generally used as a complement to black or to achieve an exact color that CMYK process colors cannot provide.  Be sure spot colors used in your graphics are named exactly the same as in the layout graphic.

Image Resolution:

All raster images must have a minimum 300 dpi and in CMYK or Grayscale mode.

Trim:

Trim refers to the final product size or edge of the paper. The trim lines in a layout document indicate where the product is cut down to its desired size. Be mindful when creating your set up that there is always a mechanical margin of error when the job is printed and cut. To be on the safe side, keep important content within safety margins.

Safety margin range from .1625” (1/16”) to .25” {1/4”). As a designer, using a 25” safety margin will accommodate more printers and preserve your design.

Bleeds:

Bleeds refer to the line extending past the trim line to which artwork or a background color is extended so that the blade will cut through it.

Safety margin range from .1625” (1/16”) to .25” {1/4”). As a designer, using a 25” safety margin will accommodate more printers and preserve your design.
